Reina de la Paz

Elijah and "Marvelous Maria" the lady wrestler (see Elijah's post )

March 2
From Rebekah
What I like about Reina de la Paz is that the babies are nice and I've got a little friend named Nasheli. She is two, but is going to be three at the end of this month. Today I played with a baby and we did not know her name. I enjoyed being in Reina de la Paz.

We are going to Paracas on March 17th. We are going to see sea lions and lots of birds. We might be able to see dolphins.

From Elijah

A baby named Maria tackled me and grabbed my nose and covered my mouth. I had fun playing with her. I think that she is stronger than me! She may be even able to become a lady wrestler.
Rebekah walked with a cute baby. We are going to Paracas. That's it.

From Sue
Today at RdlP we had to "fly solo"; Guili was sick and she called and asked if we wanted to go by ourselves and just hang out with the girls and babies. We said yes wondering what this was going to look like. We were able to communicate things (Eric did well with that and Emily helped too), we brought our Spanish/English dictionary and, of course, there is always miming:) We held babies and listened to music with some of the girls. They are getting ready to start school next week and many of the girls were helping to clean the daycare they have on sight. One of the girls was telling us that we are good people and that our kids love us. She then told us that her stepfather is the father of her child and that her mother abandoned her. She can't go to live with her grandparents because they are ill and she has to leave the home in December. Please pray for this young (16) mother that God would provide a safe place for her to live and that she would be able to finish school. She told us that families usually provide the school supplies but that she doesn't have any family to do this. Eric wrote down what she needs and we told her that we would be her family "in Christ". On the way home, Eliljah and Rebekah were excitedly recounting their activities of the morning and Elijah said, "I am a little missionary". Rebekah told us that she likes being homeschooled in Peru because she gets a field trip every Tuesday to Reina de la Paz. We knew that this trip would be life-changing, but it has exceeded our expectations in many ways. Our Lord often works that way taking our small mustard seed of faith and turning into something bigger than we ever imagined.
