Thursday

March 4
From Sue
It is Thursday and yesterday Eric left for another trip to the mountains. He is currently in Puno which is a city (ok, not sure if city is the right word) at an elevation of about 15,000 feet. He arrived safely and was feeling fine when we talked to him last evening. He was a bit chilly with the temperatures in the 50's. That sounds pretty good to most of you but our blood has thinned the last 8 weeks. He told us that his hotel was going to cost 30 soles, which is approximately 10-12 dollars. I am glad to be staying home this time. Please pray for his safety and protection. The kids and I have been trying to hit school hard this week as we will fall a little behind when we travel. Our Thursday routine has been to do school in the morning and then go to the park for a picnic lunch. The park has been empty all week because most kids here went back to school this week.
We had a major find at the store this week- Turkey Hill ice cream which is made in Lancaster County, PA! The grandpas always buy it for us when we go to PA for visits. We were so surprised because we can't even get it in IN! We bought dutch chocolate just for sentimental reasons:) It tasted so good and soothed a little of the homesickness. Of course, it also accentuated it a bit too if you can understand that?
